Overgrown acreage cleared in a single pass. The brush gets ground into mulch right where it stands, so there is nothing to burn, nothing to haul, and no bare dirt left behind to wash away.
One tracked machine with a mulching head does the cutting, the grinding and the cleanup at the same time. That is why it beats a dozer and a burn pile on cost, on mess and on what the ground looks like when it is done.
Thick understory taken out from under the trees you want to keep. You get your sight lines, your shade and your walkable ground back in one pass.
Build sites, septic fields, driveways and pads cleared to grade. We work around what stays and take out what does not.
Fence rows opened up so you can see and fix your wire. Trails and lease roads cut wide enough for a truck and a trailer.
Traditional clearing is three jobs: cut it, pile it, then get rid of the pile. Every step costs money, and you finish with scraped dirt, stump holes and a burn scar.
Forestry mulching is one job. The head grinds standing material into chips that drop where they were growing. That mulch layer holds your soil through a hard rain, keeps moisture in the ground through August, and breaks down into something that actually feeds the native grass coming back underneath it.
It also means no burn ban delays, no dump fees, and no heavy trucks tearing up your entrance road.
Call or fill out the form with the location and rough acreage. A dropped pin or an address is enough for us to pull it up on satellite before we drive out.
Density drives cost more than acreage does. We look at stem size, how thick the understory is, slope, and how a trailer gets in. Then you get a firm number.
The mulching head grinds standing brush and small trees where they stand. No burn piles, no dump trailers, no gate ruts from hauling debris out.
You look it over while the machine is still on site. If a spot needs another pass, we make it then and there.
Our typical rate is $1,800 per acre for moderate brush. Light understory under mature timber prices below that. A solid wall of yaupon or a cedar thicket with trunks the size of your leg prices above it. Density is what moves the number, not acreage.
| Density | What it looks like | Per acre |
|---|---|---|
| Light | Scattered brush, mostly open, grass underneath | $1,400 – $1,700 |
| Moderate | Continuous understory, stems up to about 4" | $1,800 |
| Heavy | Wall-to-wall yaupon, privet or cedar, stems 4–8" | $2,200 – $2,700 |
| Severe | Twenty-plus years of growth, tight canopy, steep or rocky | $2,800 – $3,400 |
Small jobs under an acre are usually priced by the day or half day, since mobilizing the machine costs the same either way.
We run from the Piney Woods across the post oak belt and out onto the Blackland Prairie. If your county is not on the list, call anyway — we travel for bigger jobs.
Most acreage falls between $1,200 and $3,500 an acre. Density is the driver. Light understory under big timber is quick work; a thicket that has not been touched in twenty years can take a full day for a single acre. We price by what is actually standing there, not by a flat rate.
The chips break down over one to three growing seasons depending on how thick the layer is and how wet the year is. That is the point of it. While it is breaking down it is holding your soil and feeding the grass underneath.
Some of it will. Species that resprout from the root, like mesquite and privet, come back and need a maintenance pass every few years. Ashe juniper does not resprout from a cut stump, so cedar country stays clean much longer.
Yes, and that is most of what we do. The operator picks what stays. Selective mulching around mature oaks and pines is the whole reason landowners choose this over a dozer.
Neither. Nothing gets burned and nothing leaves the property, so burn bans and landfill fees never enter the picture.
On sandy East Texas ground we can work through most of the year. On black clay prairie a soaked field will rut, so we watch the forecast and reschedule rather than tear up your ground.
Tell us where the property is and roughly how much needs clearing. We will get back to you with a plan and a price, not a sales pitch.
